Monetise EV charging flexibility
Turn EV charging flexibility into a valuable revenue stream for your business
Most commercial fleets have scheduled arrival and departure times in line with operational requirements. This effectively structures what we call a "charging window" for EVs where vehicles are parked and plugged in.
Charging optimisation partners like Optimo can offer that flexibility in different energy markets or "grid services" where it may be called upon when the system is very short on power (sudden offshore wind drop in Scotland for example) or when the network is constrained.
That charging window will often have some buffer in it where vehicles are fully charged but aren't technically required to run their routes yet. This time is what we call "charging flexibility" or "flex" for short.
In practice, when flexibility is called upon, providers are requested to modify their consumption patterns to adjust for the need. In the case of EV charging for commercial fleets, that will often mean reducing charging for a short period then catching that back up later in the charging window!
Unlock a new revenue stream through the Optimo platform with automated shifting of charging based on market or grid signals.
End to end management of qualification, aggregation, bidding and settlement in various markets is handled by our team of energy experts.
